Win2K runs MS Installer every startup
Just built a PIV 2.4ghz for a mate and we had to replace a faulty motherboard (Asus P4S8X-X) after only a week.
After replacing it the modem failed to work so I ran a repair from the CDROM and all seemed fine. Then we got a MS Office error message saying we should re-install Office so I uninstalled and re-installed. Now every time it starts up I get the MS Installer running and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office - it can't remove a registry entry and I've tried manually deleting it but Win2K won't allow it. Anything I can do? TIA |

I've seen this happen with a few computers at work, and to solve that problem, we just went to "add-remove programs" click "change" for office, add remove features, then select "update now" without actually changing anything.
Hope that works for you. |
