no desktop icon on xp pro
a friend at work lost his " desktop tab" on his puter and i was wondering how would go about getting it back, we go to display properties / and the tab for desktop is gone. I'm not sure what he did to lose it,well he isn't sure,

run system restore from start, all programs, accessories, system tools

thanks for your reply,
i believe he went ahead and cleared out all of his old restore points,i no that would be the easiest fix, so know what? |

is he set up as administrator on the computer ?
has he downloaded any screan savers or custom desktop programs ? is thair another log in account on the computer if so dose the desk top tab display in that account if no account to test with go to control panal user accounts and make a new ac**** with full admin rights and log on to that account and check all so try start run cmd and in the dos box type SFC and hit enter |
