I want to do a cd to cd buring. I have two bays and when I tried to do it I couldn't. The software i got with the cd burner and Roxio both don't recognize both drives at the same time. I built this computer so do you think I did anything wrong in installing it. I have WinXp for those who want to know and the software that came with the burner is NTI Cd maker. Both drives work, I just can't use a burning software to do a disc to disc.

I use the Roxio software with ONE cd burner drive and it works fine... just choose "disc copier"... put the source cd in first and it copies the info to a temp folder on your hd... then it will ask for a cd-r/rw... after that it should burn from the temp folder just fine... (at least it does for me)
good luck :-) |

Try copying to the hard drive first, regardless if using both drives or just the CD RW as both the source and target.
Roxio's good software if you can get it working. Sometimes when more than one CD burning program is installed, neither program works right. |

Do you have two CD burners? If you're having problems having Roxio recognize the drives, go up to their web site and download the updates.

Will Nero copy a CD if you only have 1 drive?

Yes, it will. Matter of fact, if you only have one drive, it will not even give you the option to copy on the fly. It will first create and save an image of the source CD to the hard drive and then ask you for the new blank target, and will burn the image to it to create a copy of the source automatically.
All you have to do is select CD Copy as the CD type in the new compilation window or click File> CD Copy and you are on your way.
