Thumbs down major problem!!!!!!

hi, i have just come home and found my dad has got annoyed with his pc and tryed to reinstall win xp.
i dont have a clue y he did this but anyway he booted his pc up with the disk in, he got through the whole list of options until it got to installing, it then sed that there wos a lost file...............then i came home.
it now wont boot into windows obviously cos it has half installed and he is very annoyed.

please help me, my dads such an idiot

ok bell kicks
is the cd damaged check for any marks and clean it by runing it under a warm tap then wipe with soft toilet paper or cloth
first of try to reboot from the cd and chose the repair windows option on the first screan hit enter to install next screan chose the repair if that fails post back.
