removing emachines clutter
i was wondering hoe i could get rid of ALL the emachines clutter that is installed with their packaged os. like when you first turn the computer on it says emachines. and when you right click the my computer, it says manufactured by emachines. and of course all the programs that say it. like power dvd and such. is there anyway to keep that version of power dvd and get rid of the emachines label on it? if not i have another p-dvd program im not using so its no problem. i guess they really make it a point to let you know that you bought a computer from them huh.
can anyone throw some help my way?

Short answer is Yes you can, you will be playing with the registry here and while I can not give you specifics on each I can tell you that you will want to first look into how to back up and restore from this back up of your registry prior to making changes to it. You mess it up and your e machine will think it is a toaster

Doing a clean install is the way to go. But that will not get rid of the eMachines logo during POST since that is on the BIOS itself. You may be able to disable it in the CMOS setup.

i checked out the cmos and bios doesnt have an option to change the POST settings. i have the manual for my board, and it has the option listed in there but in bios its not there. is there a way to see more advanced options or something, like on the gigabyte boards? could i clear my cmos using the jumpers and would that work?
