ads ads ads

Hey guys, when I go to sleep at night I leave my computer with XP and Pacbell DSL running and when I get up in the morning I have 15 ads I have to click off the screen before I can do anything.

These pop up during the day but they arent internet explorer (Browser) ads. They are grey boxes with the ad inside like the adware is built into a small program along with the DSL or maybe something I have on my computer on dont know about.

Anyone know what im talking about?

Thanx, Sean

Disable Windows Messenger service. Right click on "My Computer," select "Manage," and then click on "Services." Double-click on the "Messenger" service, stop the service if it is running, and set its startup to disabled.

Here's the microsoft explanation:

If you don't already have a firewall, it would be a good idea to install one, otherwise you are treating the symptom but not the problem.
