Start Man
have windows XP and I was told that I had too many start up programs. I went to the Pack man portal site, downloaded 145 pages of program info and Start Man . Well I ran start man but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it. Can anyone help?

i don't know what start man is but if you have too many startup programs go to start>run>msconfig>Startups and start deselecting those programs you don't need to startup.

startman gives you a list of all the programs running on startup. To identify what the programs are and whether or not they are needed, you can look them up in startup_all and then disable them by unclicking if they are unncessary. Only keep the files that are identified as needed.

Or uninstall Startman, and run msconfig, look on the startup tab.
Why use 3rd party software, when XP has it built in? |

Ok my friends here it is . I don't know if anyone is familiar with Start Man but I ran it researched the start ups. Then I diabled 7 that were not necessary on start up. To tell the truth I can't really tell if it speeded up the start up. Oh well.
