Hi,
When I try and start Nero in my buddies PC it give the message another program is running for the burner. I figure he accidently tried to burn with XP's or WMP burning software and it is still running. Having never used these what do I look for to shut them off? Even after we reboot we get the same error and I don't see anything running in Task Manager. TIA

Go to run and type msconfig and check out your startup programs… disable any suspicious programs and reboot and give another try…
Do you have other burning programs on the computer?

Thanks Doobie,
I don't know if he has anything in his startup menu. When I built the PC for him 4 months ago he didn't, but he might have something in there now, I'll check it out. Unless he added something he only has the software I listed. I don't believe he added anything though, he had Nero, which came with the Lite-On burner I installed. It has to be XP's or WMP's burning software that is now active. Whein you insert a blank disk in your burner that stupid screen pops up asking what program you want to use and he probably selected XP or WMP to due the burning instead of Nero. I just don't know how to shut them down. I know I'll figure it out when I go over there, but if someone could give me a heads up, it would save time. |

Thanks Cricket, I tried to tell him to do that over the phone, though he might have screwed it up. I'll check it. Is there anything to check on WMP?
