Installing new o/s on a new partition
I guess I am getting crazy in my old age,but I wanted to try something new. I partitioned my 120 gb hd into two partitions @ 60 & 60, I have Win XP Home on the origional partition & thought I would put XP Pro on the new partition, so I bought XP Pro but I am confused as to how to load it on the new partition. I haven't even started to load the disc yet because I don't want to screw anything I already have up. My question is, when I insert the install disc will it ask what drive letter I want? I know this sounds kind of basic to you folks, but my system runs great now and before I get really crazy I would appreciate some help.
Thanks |

You should have no problem, for one the XP setup will see the other OS, but one tip to help you is to have the partition that XP Home is installed on named "XP Home" for example and it will show up that way during the setup phase of XP PRO, this will help you identify which partition to install the other OS on.
