Could U post back the specs of that PC in trouble, My first guess is bad RAM or if your running 2 or more sticks of RAM that there may be an incompatibility issue, but not likely incompatabile because your getting a s far as you are. Could even be just a setting in BIOS that needs set correctly, so let us know a little more abuot this PC in question, is it a new build or older PC?? Did it ever work and have an OS on it?? If so what is new or different now?? And please list the hardware specs as best U can...

ok,
the pc is 5 years old and upgraded a year ago. 700mHZ Celleron processor, 20 GIGA byte memory, 128\ 256 Ram (I don't remember). The computer worked with win 95,98, 98SE, and of course had several formats, all finished good. What kind of hardware you need to know, i'll try to find out...?

Find out the brand of the hard drive and then go to the manufacturer's website and download the diagnostic utilities and test the hard drive.

What brand and wattage is the power supply?

Exactly what was upgraded?

Is it a HP, Compaq, DELL, IBM, Gateway? If it's a name brand computer, what model is it?

If it's a store bought "clone", then you basically have a home built system.
