Dissapearing "MY Documents" folder in My computer???

all of the sudden, the folder "Brandon's Documents" has dissapeared from My Computer when i log in under "Brandon" i can access my documents (Brandon's Documents) from C:\documents and settings\brandon\my documents but it doesnt appear anymore in My computer. any ideas????

Somewhere is a simple checkmark to enable or disable the MyDocuments folder in Mycomputer.

I forget where it is at the moment, but if I remember I will post it...

Actually, the setting is in TweakUI for XP.

You can go to Microsofts site and download TweakUI for XP from thier PowerTools page. TweakUI has a section for MyComputer that will allow you to customize this.

(You may be able to do it without TweakUI, but I never do, and cant recall where the option might be)

what about on the desktop? You still have its functionality, so until you cannot access the documents folder, it would work temporarily...

hi brandon
can you open control panall and go to user accounts and make a new acount name it test set it as an admin acount then log of and back on to your acount open my computer and see if the test account my doc folder is shown

ok it does show up under temp-admin. the brandon documents i mean. temp-admins documents does show up tho

ok how many partitions or hard drives do you have if poss find your my doc folder and move it to another hdd or partition then reboot and move it back to the defult loc C:\documents and settings\brandon\my documents and reboot agen dos it show now ?

1 60GB in 1 NTFS partition. same thing. i moved it to c:\temp\my documents and moved it bak and still no luk

yep. my WiFi network got screwed up so i went back a month in time. (I dont feel it though)

That's strange. It lets me show BOTH, Shared Docs and My Docs (or whatever you have it named, of course).
