XP SP1 caused big problems!

Hi all,
I have a client that was running XP on a system I built for him. Everything has been peachy for 2 months. He recently downloaded and installed Service Pack 1, and now the machine is in a loop of perpetual reboots. Can't get into Windows, can't get into Safe Mode. I know it was a problem with SP1, but how can I fix it with out being able to get into Windows? Thanks for your replies.

Thanks, lil jimmie. As luck would have it, I'm running that right now. Seems to me, that I have heard of this 'repairing the install' corrupt or erase the My Documents folder...any truth to that?

I have never heard of it erasing or corrupting the My Documents folder unless the damage was done prior to the repair and corrupt files were the culprit that brought on the need to perform the repair.
