how to reinstall W2K

hi guys,

thanks for this lovely site that helps a lot or computer users.

could someone help me how to reinstall W2K on my system without formatting my HD. my current system is running W2k and some system files are infected with virus. how could I reinstall W2k.

After making absolutely sure that there is no longer any virus on your machine, boot with the win2k cd; at the menu choose install. Setup will detect your previous installation and ask if you want to repair, choose to repair. Note you will need to reapply any service packs, updates, hotfixes, etc.

Another way is to run sfc [system file checker] have your win2k cd handy or in the cd drive. Open up a cmd prompt and type sfc /scannow. This will check and replace if necessary your system files.
