Outlook Express blocks all attachments - XP

Hi,

My friend asked me to take a look at his computer yesterday, a Dell running Win XP Home Edition, because Outlook Express was giving him a message saying that whatever attachment he tried to get would be blocked. I didn't see the error myself but I think he said it said the attachments were labled "dangerous" when he tried to download them.

My friend says he's tried various different attachments, all to the same effect. I took a look at the e-mail sent with the attachments (which came through fine) but when I clicked on the "safety pin" at the side, the options to "open" and "save to disk" were faded out and unclickable.

Hopefully someone can help out!

[Confused]

In Outlook Express check under Tools, Options, Security tab. There under Virus protection is a box for saving or opening file attachments.
