win 2k and dial up, strange error
I don't have the extact error but when trying to create a dun connection in win 2k on moms computer last sunday, it won't accept any name for the ISP, gives a message that is must contain at least 1 character that is not a space or a period symbol. I am going up to her place tomorrow to see if I can fix it, any idea?
The Feild was not greyed out or anything, it was just the connection field and I would type in various names, tried numbers, all lower case, all upper case. could not get it to accept anything for an ISP name. I had never run across that before and i didn't have my bag of software tricks with me. Anyways, tomorrow I am going back to her home to see if I can fix it, I have thought about it off and on all week and Have been unable to come up with a reason why it would do such a thing. It is a new 2k install and the modem has the most updated 2k drivers. Any ideas?
