Undelete file from recycle bin
Hi,
My friend's son deleted a powerpoint file sending it to the recycle bin. He then emptyed the recycle bin. I was wondering if there is a way to recover this file. She is running Windows XP Pro. Thanks. Rob |

they should probably stop using the computer or at least try not to install or download anything until they can get a file recovery program.

I don't think system restore works that way. I thought it just restored the system settings.
By using the computer in any way (witing data to the drive. Yes, while surfing, data is written to the drive) may reduce your chances of recovering the file. http://www.e-evidence.info/other.html I've had some luck with DirectorySnoop, and Disk Investigator.

You should be able to find a utility here that can help. Be sure and read the program instructions carefully since you are working in the active partition.
