boot up probs

windows XP home ed -

When i turn on my comp i get a black screen with white writing that says windows has failed to start properly and i have to choose how to start up (Start wondows normally, last known good config and somethin else). It says that a recent hardware change may have causeed it but i havent changed anything so i dunno whats up. Any help appreciated.

have you tryed last known good config if that dont work try safe moad if you get to safe moad try systom restor if that fails post back with your full systom specks and any changes you made to windows ie updated drivers or new softwair

Need more info.

What kind of computer is this? Home built or store bought?

What are the system specs?

Are you running a lot of background applications?

Did you install any new software? Programs or drivers?
