Question Ovresize screen

I have a problem with my display. When runing (pcmech) the (picture) is always is always larger than my display (boob tube) with a slider at the bottom of the screen which I have to move back & forth to see the the whole smear. Can anyone tell me how to correct this P.I.T.A problem. On other sites it only happens sporadically on maybe one site & not the other.

TIA

I'm set at 1024x768 on a 17" and have no horizontal slider either. If you are at this resolution, and see a horizontal slider, are you keeping a Search or Favorites munu box open to the left side of your screen? If so, try clicking on the pin to unstick the box so that it will autohide (moving your cursor will show the box again). You can also try the Full Sceen view of IE (either add the Full Screen option button to your IE toolbar, or use the keyboard shortcut F11 to toggle it on and off)

Mine is set at 800 X 600 which I have used since day 1 so, I don't know when exactly this first appeared but I've tried all kind of settings in in I-Xp. to no avail. No boxes open.
I,m sure it's some computer setting but cannot find it.
Thanks for the responce.

What about trying this: empty your Temporary Internet Files, and delete all your cookies and offline material too. You'll have to re-login to have PC Mech save a cookie when you next visit, then all will be automatic again. Before you visit PC Mech again, though = get the screen size just the way you like it. That sort of info may well be stored in the cookie for this website.

Worth a try, anyway?
