Install problem

I recently had a power supply failer. Replaced the power supply and had ODD probs... Reformated HDD with XP pro. For whatever reason it stops responding when the network is being installed. I removed nic, sound, and the video card with out any results. Also, the bios recoginizes my floppy drive but i can not use a start up disc. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Specs are...
Win XP pro
Biostar M7V1B=Motherboard
512 MB DDR
60 GB Maxtor
AMD Athlon XP 1.6

Lot of times when a PSU goes out it damages other components too, and sometimes the damage is like U are describing. Last summer my MoM's PSU went and it took all the drives with it....

Sounds like the Motherboard is damaged. Biostars are pretty weak when it comes to this type of stuff. A week ago I was called over to look at a machine that the power cord was pulled out while it was on. The machine had a Biostar board in it and this took out the AGP slot.

another thing I have seen, on some power supplys, if you just remove the power from them for a few min, they will reset the built-in protection and run fine when reconnected to the power source, ( wall outlet )
