Partitioning unallocated space

Hi
I installed windowsXP on my computer and left 40GB of my HD free to create an aditional partition and to instal RedHat Linux 9. So after I installed RH linux I was left with 10GB of unallocated space. I wanted to use it as my second partition in Win but When i went to disk management it doesn not let me partition that space. I cant do anything with it the only options i get when I right click on it are "properties" and "help".
Any ideas why I can't Partition this space.

Are you sure the 10G space is unallocated or is it part of the partition Linux is installed on?

Computer Management (Local)
Storage
Disk Management

Right-click an unallocated region of a basic disk, and then click New Partition, or right-click free space in an extended partition, and then click New Logical Drive.
In the New Partition Wizard, click Next, click Primary partition, Extended partition, or Logical drive, and then follow the instructions on your screen.
i copyed this from disk Management help did you right click the unalocated space in the lower window to try and make the partition or did you just click the top drive ?

yes I have tried right clicking on the unallocated space but I dont have the "new partition" active. It's gray and i can't chose it. It's like that I'm not allowed to do anything to that free space but getting information about it or read the help.
It's making me crazy. Is it that I can't have more than four partitions??????.....................
Thanks guys

With Windows XP Pro, you are only allowed four partitions.

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article-309000, Titled: How To: Use Disk Management to Configure Basic Disks in Windows XP.
Try this link
Go to the section "Basic Disks and Volumes". The fourth sentence of the paragraph states "You can create up to four primary partitions, or three primary partitions and one extended partition, which contains logical drives."
