Unhappy XP Install copy filie ERRORS

This is what I am trying to do a fresh install with.

New 160GB ATA 133 HD

New ATA 133 PCI card

ATA 133 driver floppy

win XP pro CD

My motherboard is an ASUS CUV4X which only supports ATA 66 so I installed the ATA 133 PCI adapter card to run thr HDD, from help from this forum. This is the thread. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?threadid=71114

XP formated the HD then did it's copy files which is what I am having trouble with. It keeps stoping during the copy with error "hit enter to retry", I hit enter and another error occures, and another, and another. I had to just hold the enter button down there was so many errors. It did eventualy finish with it's copy files but needless to say XP didn't install proply.

What is wrong?

Cool

XP is particular about RAM. Try changing RAM or try just one if you are using two sticks.

Also I believe HD's that contain operating systems and are hooked to controller cards are seen as SCSI in BIOS settings. Maybe someone else can confirm or refute that.

Could also be your CD is dirty/scratched, or your CD-ROM isn't reading it right, or has a dirty lens.

You guys rock!!!!!

I took everyones advice basicly. Cleaned CD and drive. I also had a ton of stuff on my computer 4 monitors, video cards, CDRW, DVD, 3 sticks of ram to name a few. So I just hooked up one monitor and video card one stick of memory, floppy and 52x CD drive. Installed flawlessly. Who knows what the problem was but I am going to start re-installing everything I took of my BEAST!

I was ready to snap the XP CD in half last night, man was I pissed. Thanks guys you saved me a bunch of time and money.
