Explorer crash

Hi,

You know those 'Application error' messages in 2000 and XP with Press OK to Terminate the application, and Cancel to Debug?

I'm getting these with Explorer.exe. It's just an annoyance really as explorer opens again quite quickly and mostly everything is back to normal within 2 seconds

But why? To be honest the only thing I've changed since this started happening is replaced AVG with Norton Antivirus 2003. I know a lot of people have had problems with Norton AV in the past but I quite like it, is this is a known problem with NAV and XP?

Thanks for your help,

Hi fatboyjim !
I was just wondering ,what was so wrong with AVG that you decided to replace it with Norton ?. I have been runing AVG for well over 2 1/2 years. I have had no problems with AVG fatboyjim . I have had no bugs that I know off . XP has done great with AVG. Running AVG and Zone Alarm as a Fire Wall is my best combination. It is all FREE.--------------Don

P.S.: back to check this post>late Sat. afternoon

Hi Don thanks for the post

The reason I changed from AVG to Norton was that AVG was fully updated but didn't pick up a few viruses that Norton did

I don't mean to bad mouth AVG or put anybody else off and I'm sure I was just unlucky but I just lost faith

Heh, I just changed from Norton to AVG about a week ago. Unfortuanately I am having the same problem. All the sudden explorer crashes whenI have a cople of folders open movin stuff around. I am totally confused over this. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the change of AV software though.
