Question Thumbnail screenshot of video files

Hi to all,

In winXP when u switch to thumnail view and u have a video file it has a screenshot of the video file on the file icon. Well one day the screenshots on top of the tumbnails of .avi .mpeg and .mpg files where gone! I am not sure, but I have come down to the conclusion that is has to do with file association because I get a screenshot preview on .mpe files! (and most other video players usually associate with the .avi .mpeg .mpg files and not with .mpe). In fact when I change the extension of a file from .mpeg (no thumbnail screenshot) to .mpe the thumbnail prewview screenshot appears! I un-associated all other video playback programs except windows media player to the avi mpeg files, I even unistalled them all and reinstalled windows media player 9 but the problem is still here. Anybody knows what to do? Without the preview I am kinda lost in a chaos of countless videos that I have to run to see what thery r about (pretty annoying).

Thanks for your time.
