Win 98se vs Win Me
My fried ordered a computer 2 years ago with windows me and just now got it set up, lol. He said I could use his win me disk to install it on my computer(don't tell microsoft). Now i'll get to my question. I herd that there were alot of problems with windows me, would I be better off staying with 98se or going to ME?

The system in your sig should be nicely served by Win98se and the Mandrake Linux 9.1 . . . WinMe wouldn't run much differently (you might have to chase down some WinMe drivers) . . . but we have to remind you that unless your friend had a multi-user license, it's strictly one computer install per cd. I'd stay with your Win98se, especially since I imagine you probably have it tuned up pretty well.

I agree with Gary, stick with Win98SE. You won't see any increase in performance if you upgraded to WinME.

Moderator's comment.
As mentioned above.... discussions of piracy are NOT allowed here... You have been warned to please refrain from such comments in the future. Thank you.
Now... assuming that you were upgrading legally.... there is no real performance benefit... but I do find that WinME boots a heck of a lot quicker than Win98... is this a reason to upgrade? Probably not.

It's not worth the effort. My son did an upgrade a couple of years ago because he said it networked better. But other than that, W98SE is a good OS.

The only other benefit that hasn't been mentioned for Win ME is the system restore function.
