How can I tell if my windows 98 is first edition or second edition?

Rightclick on My Computer, select Properties.
There you can read if it's first edition (also with .1998 version number) or second edition. RJ

I think you can goto Start/Run then type "Winver" and it will tell you......

winver will bring up a little window to tell you that you have 98 or 95, but not what version of 98.....

But winver displays the version number, doesn't it ?
Win98 First Edition = 4.10.1998 Win98 Second Edition = 4.10.2222 Anyway, properties of my computer will tell for sure. RJ |

Date of setup file on the root of the CD.
First release 5/11/98 Second relaease 11/24/98 Second edition 4/99 |
