Can you check this for me?
Hi
I'm new here and am looking for some help. I'm pretty OK with computers but this is the first time I've attempted a dual boot. I want XP as the main OS but 98 for games. Have XP at the mo and I know you should install 98 then XP. Now, Win98 needs FAT(32) but my HDD1 is NTFS and I know you cannot change back (I've tried )I have a second HDD (HDD2) which is FAT32. Now, I'm thinking that I could simply swap them around and make the computer see HDD2 first and install 98 there... OK so far I think. My question is that if I then swapped the HDDs back around so that the machine saw 1 then 2 again, would it work correctly as if I had installed 98 then XP. The other option is to swap the drives around to be 2 then 1, install 98 and then reinstall XP (over the top of itself in effect). This would comply with the 98 then XP rule but of course I want to save myself some time. I would really appreciate some help on this. Thanks in advance for your time! Mark |

Disconnect the drive with XP.
Install WIN98 on second drive. Connect first drive back up and boot with the XP CD and choose repair. Should set up a boot loader for you. Chas
