Windows XP FILE FOLDER AUTO FIND

Everytime i try and oepn a file by double clicking on it, the folder automaticly starts a search in that folder, i have tried setting dolfer options to open and explore but someone how the file folder and folder file have been swtiched, this problem seems to ahve happened when i clicked on folder file, and tried to chagne the icon, i have tried almsot everything exepect formating windows XP, does anyone know the folder command for open, in system 32 folder i belive, its not openfiles.exe. ive tried alot of stuff pls help its realy annyoing

first try systom restor to a point befor the problam started

did that restore won't fix that problem sadley
