cant center wallpaper
When I set my wallpaper on center all I get is a white screen. So if I want to put a picture smaller than my screen I need to strech it or set it so it has as many copys as it needs to fill my screen. how can I fix it?

Part bump, part suggestion.
Do you have "Active Desktop" on? Is it a bmp, jpeg, gif, or does it not matter? |

Like Dreamscape asks: what type of file are you using for wallpaper? Are you choosing it from the standard list that comes with a Win9x install?
If you are choosing a bitmap (.bmp) that is very small, and ask Windows to center it, yes, it will nearly disappear in a sea of background color (whatever color or pattern you've set your desktop to be) - especially if you have a large monitor & run a high resolution such at 1600x1200 or perhaps 1280x1028. In this case, you can try an image editing program, if you are especially attached to the tiny image, to save it in a format that will stretch better than a bitmap. Or just choose a bigger bitmap. Photo files stretch better (such as .jpg). Best of luck . . . Gary |

I run on 1152X864. They are all .jpg and are made to be wallpapers for 1024X768. For some reason 1 of them can center. I do have a "Active Desktop". I dont understand why one wold center and not an other.

there are a lot of reasons why one would center and not the others. the one that centers might be larger than the others. What happens if you change your res to 1024x768? there's not a real lot of difference, the jpegs certainly would work as wallpaper best at the res they were made for.

I can just go in a picture editing program and and borders to make them big enough. The only problem I have with that is centering them well but it doesnt matter. Thanks anyways for your help.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...UTF-8&q=XnView You can get to the site from Google. ( 3rd or 4th item down is in English) It is called " XnView " |
