In Windows XP, when you set Performance Options in System Properties, there you find an option: "Show translucent selection rectangle" I have unchecked that, but even then when i deselect an item on desktop (by clicking on an empty area), it still shows a rectangle around that icon that was last selected. How to get rid of that selection rectangle all together?
