Question Can't Delete folder

Well, for starters it's all macromedia's fault for screwing up the installer but enough of my moans, it's not that big a deal

Problem: The installer created a folder called "Macromedia "
i also installed other products by macromedia so there is a another folder called "Macromedia" in the same directory

In a general PC tidy up i'm trying to get rid of stuff... But i can't delete that folder ("Macromedia " - with the space) no matter what i do.

DOS lists it (using DIR) but when trying any action on it refuses to accept it exists. Windows can actually look in the folder etc, but can't delete it. Err, and other products i could list don't really help either :/

Any way to force kill the folder?

Have you tried UNinstalling the program that created it?

Post Deleting phantom folder

I hate to ask the stupid question... Have you tried running scandisk on this drive? Sometimes folders will behave strangely like that if Windows goes to delete it and encounters certain kinds of problems. It could just be a corrupted folder entry... I remember having a problem like this a long while ago and I don't remember what I did to fix it....

Another thing I would try... (Is this Win98 or XP?) Creating a Win98 boot disk and make sure you have the deltree command on it. Try booting to the boot disk and deltreeing the folder
(Now, this won't work if it's Win XP using an NTFS file system... but if you're using FAT32 on 98 or XP I'd give this a try)

Try shutting down completely. Could be something got stuck in the memory.
