Making A Backup Copy Of XP Disc?

I can't seem to find the booklet that came with my XP install disc so I thought I would ask on here.

Is it legal for me to make a copy of my XP disc just in case something were to happen to the original. I'm NOT going to give it to anyone else or sell it.

the eula is in your system 32 folder of windows, eula.txt

I searched for 'back', 'up', 'back up' and 'copy' and it does NOT appear to be an allowed item as the eula stipulates what IS allowed.

Interestingly you can only hook up 5 pc's together for file sharing etc with xp home.

Cool

If one were to make a copy and place the original in a safe place such as a safe and only used the copy for personal use and didin't in any way try to profit from it. Who would know that a copy was made if one didn't say anything?

i think it depends on the law in the state or country you live in as its legal to make a back up of any softwair provided you have the origanal fully licenced version in some countrys all so you can slipstream the service packs in to a cd that you make so ineffect you have a back up cd

Yep a backup copy of your XP disc for yourself is legal.
That applies to any other software CD and DVD as well.
