Assuming that the xp disk is not being 'loaned' as this is a violation of the software license, illegal and in violation of this sites faqs then the answer is 'barely' if the machine is stock with no upgrades done by the last owners'

here is a link to what the machine is

http://www.epinions.com/pr-Desktops_...ay_~full_specs

Go here and download the 'Upgrade Advisor', it is a system checker and will give you a definitive answer to your question

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p...ng/advisor.asp

here are the MS spec for windows XP

PC with 300 megahertz or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233 MHz minimum required (single or dual processor system);* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, or AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended
128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)
1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space*
Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor
CD-ROM or DVD drive
Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

At stock specs you are at 400 mhz with an 8 gb hd and only 64 mgs of ram. It will run slow, you can upgrade the ram to 256 which I very definilty recommend regardless if whether you go with XP or not.

Even if it loads without any problems if its a borrowed xp disk then the computer will stop working after 30 days,xp must be activated ,only 1 copy on a machine, cant have the same copy on 2 or more, without the proper licensing.

A legal copy of XP Home is avalable for $93 at newegg.com, however, be aware the maschine will run very slugish should you not give it a much needed upgrade to 256Mb of RAM, as stated by sdkfz...
