xp wont boot up

I have changed my mobo and HD and added more mem now 512. reinstalled XP pro and registered it. all OK for 1 day then when i tried to start again I got message no C:
eventually i had to put another hd with an os in and used norton disk doctor to sort things out.

I reinstalled XP again OK but it wont boot! I get a message saying it cant find windows32\l_intl.nls.which could be missing or corrupt and should try a repair.

Instead I Fdisk the drive and had the same result. except it did fire up once and worked fine.

i am now getting either the same msg or another saying windows\root\system32\nto skrnl.exe is missing.

Any clues as to what is happening. should i get another HD?

You might try removing one stick of ram to try it and if the problem is still there, swap with the other stick to rule out RAM. Also, Norton Disc Doctor has been known to cause problems. I had it and after getting rid of it, no more problems.
Norton AV is OK though.

I had a lot of booting problems with a new installation of Windows due to RAM incompatiblility. It was probably more the board being picky than actually malfunctioning RAM. I switached the brands and all works good.

On an outside shot, you might also want to change the IDE cable.

Thanks for suggestions. just got around to trying removing a mem stick and it cured the problem.
Strange thing is that after windows had finished installing properly and had been rebooted i put the stick back in and its all working fine now. funny thing memory?
