Upgrade from 98 to 2000 Pro

When I try to upgrade I get these compatibility messages:
BDA Sink not present
BDA MPE Filter not present
BDA Slip De-Framer not present
NABTS/FEC Vb1 Codec not present
World Standard Teletext codec not present.

I have tried upgrading from 98. I have tried clean install but nothing seems to work. Computer crashed after install. I have an Asus P3C-E mobo
Matrox g400 VC
Creative Sc
3com modem.
Rambus memeory

Can someone tell me how to work around this or install the items needed or fix them. Thanks, Tom

Hmm it could be bad RAM. Win2K/XP is more picky about RAM than Win9x.

Anyway, when you do a clean install, when does the computer crash and how ? Blue screen ? Is it already during install or at the first or second bootup ?

RJ, I think the message goes something like this. If this is the first time you have seen this message Re-boot. After booting up again I get the same message. Tom

Yeah that's a blue screen. I once experienced it with a bad mainboard, but in your case I'd first check the RAM. Try it with only one stick of RAM, maybe even different RAM.
