Weird thing in startup

I keep very good track of what's running on my computer, but through my family using it, things sometimes happen:

In msconfig, or the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run is something named DIECOX with the address of C:\WINNT\system32\qossrv\csrss.exe

What the hell is it? It's not a virus, is it?

it looks like a virus to me...
and to symantec apparently
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ven...lbug.worm.html

but that site should tell you how to get rid of it.

if you don't want to install Norton... go to www.mcafee.com and let them do their free virus scan..

What anti-virus program do you currently have?

ok... i'll pretend you didnt say that... just kidding!

i don't think i can stress the importance of having a good anti virus program... as you can see here at the PCMech, there's a LOT of threads on just the latest worm thats going around!... do the free Mcafee scan... then head to the closest store and buy a good virus catcher/cleaner... norton and mcafee make solid products...

good luck
