Erasing usernames out of pop-up menus
Hi there,
Is it possible to erase certain passwords and/or usernames out of those pop up menus? I mean the lists/menus which pop up when you want to enter a username on a certain website. I don't want all those usernames I don't use in those lists. That way it's easier for me to select the right username. Thanks, PiC |

If you are talking about the autofill in Internet Explorer, you can clear all of them by going to Options...Contect tab...AutoComplete. If I remember correctly, you may also be able to delete things from those lists individually by highlighting a name and hitting the delete key.

I don't believe that you can delete individual names, though you can delete them all as doctorgonzo has mentioned. If you find out, though, it might be useful to know. There may be some option in the registry if you care to take the time to look there.

I have deleted individual entries from other lists that appear under text boxes (like things I have searched for on Google), but I don't know if it applies to usernames. I don't use IE anymore.

I now erased all my usernames and passwords. Finally got rid of the problem that I accidentally entered a password (which was visible) in a username entrie field. So my username and password where in the same list. Kinda risky I thought, especially cause it was an internet bank account.
I wasn't able to find out how to erase specific usernames or passwords, so I erased everything. I found a usefull link where this is explained. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...tocomplete.asp I hope those instructions will help others with the same kind of questions. PiC |

Gonzo was right, you just select the username and hit the delete key. You learn something new every day...
