floppy drive activity during logoff
Recently, I noticed that when I logoff any user account on XP Home, it activates the floppy drive. It sounds like it is looking for a disk. This didn't happen before. Anyone have any suggestions as to what is causing this and how to stop it? It is getting annoying.

You have Norton Antivirus and it is set to scan the floppy at shutdown, is the most likely culprit

Yep, that must be it. I installed a trial version of Norton to get rid of a virus a couple of weeks ago. That is about when it all started. Thanks for the reply!!
