About a week ago I got this error message: "svchost.exe has generated errors and will be shut closed by windows. An error log is being created"
--Microsoft office doesn't function ok --Internet Explorer doesn't function ok --I can't sign of the internet I figured my system was screwed up so I formatted the hard drive and installed win2k pro all over. The next thing I did was make an internet connection. After about 10 minutes on the Windows update site installing Internet Explorer 6 I got the same error message back. I've been running Norten Antivirus 2002 with all the updates. I do use a drive overlay called EZ-BIOS from Maxtor to make my old bios recognize the full 15G hard drive. I've been using it for a year without any problems. The Windows update site says that svchost.exe is in the Windows system folder and has something to do with loading drivers to applications. I have 256 RAM Pentium 2. I've been running Windows 2000 without any problems for a year and all of a sudden this hits. I don't know what to do. |
