Control Panel
hi
I have a pc with an icon for SB Audigy stuck in control panel with no title or graphic, just a blank icon. It causes me to get an error every time i open control panel or even get near control panel, over and over, sometimes locking up the machine. I have totally uninstalled Audigy, deleted the folder and went through the registry looking for creative, audigy, etc and removed all references, and still it comes up It is looking for AHQcpres.dll and gives an error of not being able to find it, but I can't find that file or any reference to it in search of whole pc. Reinstalling the Audigy software has not eliminated it either. Can someone tell me where the items listed in control panels are found so I can manually delete it, or any other ideas would be appreciated. TIA |

If your OS is Win XP or have "Go Back", try to restore to a time previous to when this started happening

I had already tried restore several times, N/G, but thanks for responding.
Andy, yours did work tho, even tho that blank icon is still there, it isn't giving me the error anymore, thank goodness...& you! thanks again.... I would still like to know where in the registry you edit what shows in control panel (I assume it's the registry) if anyone knows! |
