W32.Blaster.Worm

Can this be removed by simply doing the System Restore in XP? My friend says it can be done by going to System Restore twice. Just curious, I was not infected by it though.

Dunno but you should better run the worm removal utility, that'll kill it for sure.

System Restore did not work on a friends computer, nor did a Ghost image. I downloaded the fix and gave it to him.

Only one problem...the virus may be present in System Restore or the Recycle Bin. That's why most procedures are advocating turning off System Restore before trying to fix the problem. Many are recommending deleting all the System Restore points by disabling and re-enabling System Restore.

You should also empty the Recycle Bin.

You can't be too careful with this little horror.
