Hey tworails !
Thanks for the help. This is what it is > This Trojan dials phone numbers that have a 900 area code.--Man !this thing could have cost me a lot of money ! Those 900 numbers are the ones that a person pays for. Some can be as high as $5.00 a minute as you listen, or there is a flat fee, say, $30.00 for the whole thing. There are thousands of 900 numbers !.That virus could have dialed up many without me knowing it. Someone was trying to screw me !. Thanks for the free AVG Shield that caught it. I have been using AVG for over two years and it works WELL with XP. Everyone better be on the guard for this dialer virus !--------Don |

Hi Donald,
I've never used AVG, but I'm glad it worked good for you! And it, at least potentially, saved you a bunch of money ![]() TwoRails |

What if you get it and you are on a cable modem? How can it call someone?

A lot of people also have a regular modem installed, too. I usually do, but I took mine out for diagnostics recently.
