Please teach me how to record/create mp3 files.

Ok, I have downloaded a ton of Commodore64 and spectrum processor generated music for games and other stuff. The spectrum music is in its own AY audio format, and C64 music is only played in winamp with sid plug in. Its in SID format. I wish to somehow either record the music as mp3, or convert to mp3. Please explain to me in as much detail as you can how i can do it. I want to put it as a background music on my site.

You can also record your computer's sound output using a common windows tool called 'sound recorder' this is usually found in Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment. This will record the output of your computer (the music you are playing on winamp for example) and then it can be saved as a wav file. From there the conversion from wav to mp3 is easy as there are countless programs out there to do it. Nero for example has a wav to mp3 conversion plugin.
