Ok, so I originally had win98, i decided to try winxp professional. I wasnt sure that I would like it at all so I decided to dual boot. I adapted to xp, got rid of 98, and now i cannot get rid of the boot screen that comes up. It isnt really much of a problem, just an annoyance. I cannot find how to do it anywhere, and I dont know winxp well enough to mess with it yet.
Any advice would be appreciated.. Thx |

No need to show hidden files- Go to Control Panel > System Properties > Advanced > Startup and Recovery Settings and then under Edit remove the line that doesn't have Windows XP in it.

This is what is displayed under edit.... [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect C:\="Microsoft Windows" I previously removed the line that said anything about win98.. yet it still brings me to that boot choice screen when I turn my pc on.. oh, and i have winxp pro.. |
