System restore causing Lock Outs ????

Running XP Home.

During a recent h/ware installation (tv capture card), I noticed that setup said it was creating a restore point...etc etc but it just sat there doing nothing, after 5 minutes, rebooted and tried again but with the same result....

So i turned off system restore and tried the installtion again, this time it wissed past the creating restore point and continued with the installation.

After the install was complete, I tuned on restore again.
Later in the day i went to my computer in the start bar and right hand clicked it and clicked on properties....nothing happened>!! remembering the problems i had earlier with system restore, I wen t and turned it off again, and tried right hand clicking on my computer and clicking prop. this time the screen came up.>!!

It would appear that wehn restore is active, it is interferring with something in Xp.. Has anyone else had this problem, and can anyone suggest any fixes.?!!

Cheers

Chris

You need different drivers for the Card.
You need to put the card in a different PCI Slot
The cards software has changed a need windows file.

NO NO NO..... The card is fine, its now installed.>!!

This is just something that came to light during the installation, As I said restore is still playing up, when it is activated.! Now it it turned off the system is behaving normally.
The most weird thing is not being able to get into my computer properties when restore is active.!
