I must be jinxed when it comes to computers. Whenever I install Windows 98 or ME on the harddrive that I have put in, it will copy the files, and restart, as it should, but then after the manufacturers screen it simply says "Invalid system disk, replace and press any key" There is no disks in there drives (floppy or CD) and pressing any key doesnt help.
What the hell do I do, I haven't got much time to get this sorted and I don't really want to give up my current PC in the place of this one i'm working on come tomorrow and the buyer comes Thanks

sounds like you're taking the installation disk out before the whole install is complete.....when you get your error message, put the disc in and press any key?!? Or don't take the disc out until the install is done...

Post your system specs.
Post what you've done so far...are you trying to install the OS directly from the CD or are you using a startup floppy? With Win9x, you don't want unecessary components installed...no modem, sound card, NIC, Zip Drive, etc... Cricket

Did you go into the BIOS and set it for the new HD? If you didnt then that could be it. It thinks you still have the old one and the settings for the new one dont match. Hope this helps. Also is the Jumper set in the correct place on the HD?
