My desktop is not showing up....i have window's xp and 3 accounts. 2 of them are computer administrator's, my dad and me, and one of them is a limited, my sister. One day my dad's account desktop wasnt showing up...it only showed the background and the scroll...nothing else. No toolbars no start menu no destop icons. Then next day mine messed up. My sisters from some wierd reason is normal. I have already ran nortan anti virus through the computer on both accounts. Nothing has happened. I have downloaded the software 'spybot' and tried taking out the so called "viruses' to see if that would help bring my desktop back up. I have defragged the comp also. But nothing seems to work. I can still acsess my computer and other programs through the windows task manager. I cannot get to the control panel or settings tho. I do not know why my desktop is not showing up... Please help me!!! Thank you

It said this when i typed in C:\WINDOWS\system32\restore or rstrui.exe.....C:\WINDOWS\system32\restore refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly installed, or that you are connected to the Internet or your network, and then try again. If still not able to locate, it may have been moved to a different location
I already tried right-clicking and nothing pops up....!? |
