How can I make a shortcut icon. Can i just save a picture as a certain type of file or do I need a program? The windows ones are getting old and I have like 10 shortcuts to internet sites on my desktop alone, 20 if you count the ones in my documents folder.(im too lazy to write URL's) I dont use favorites, I find that icons are easyer to use.

I saw a article at microsoft.com on how to do this. It said 16-bit but works on 24. I made a icon file but then all my other icons were screwed up, they took the icons of other programs, the one i made or of files that have no appointed programs to start them. I deleted the icon I made and restarted my computer. All was back to normal but can anyone tell me what happened?
This is the microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;141859 I then made a icon with a letter writen in black over a white background and it worked well on a web site shortcut, then I put the default back. After I made a red block (the file's icon was that block.) and put it on the same shortcut (keeping in mind I had deleted the first icon) and instead of putting the red block as the icon it put the letter I wrote before! Now whenever I put a custom icon on a file 16-bit, 24-bit, with colors or just a white dot it always puts that old letter that I deleted! This is very confusing! MicroAngelo is one of the best icon editors I've used. It's a bit pricey at about $55 for the whole package, but it's full featured and packed with everything you could ever need.
Here's the download site: http://www.microangelo.us/ |

This morning I tryed to make some in paint again and it works, dont know why it did not work yesterday. What more could a icon program give me? I dont see the point of having one.
