WIN2000Pro pc crashing!
I started my pc from a cold boot and when the desktop came up, everything was frozen. I couldnt click on start or any of the icons. Just as I was about to do ctrl|alt|delete, the pc rebooted itself and came to a black screen that read INVALID BOOT DISKETTE/INSERT BOOT DISKETTE IN A: then it just sat there waiting for me to do something. I waited about 10min to see if it was going to reboot itself again, but nothing. I hit the reset and it came back to black screen and same mesage. I powered down then started pc again and now everything is working fine.... I ran free virus scans from Trend Micro at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and McAfee Avert Stinger from http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ and neither found anything.
Anybody have any ideas to what is going on? Thanks |

Sure wouldn't hurt to start backing up important stuff in case the hard-drive is dying. But it could simply be a series of bad bootups.
Any recent changes to the pc? Did you recently move it around? |

Hey EzyStvy,
I downloaded Sound Blaster driver, that was the last thing I did before this happened, I think? |
