You will need admin rights or have your brother clean out the folder, since its probably owned by him.

I am the admin, I think. There is only one profile on this machine. What can I do?

If you are the admin you can right click on the folder in question and go to Properties; once there click on the security tab - and the add button; give yourself full control.

uh, ya
but if he IS admin and the gui wont let him delete the folder, as in access denied/inuse, 9 out of 10 times deleting a file/folder (that you are ABLE/permitted) to delete, can be done from a command prompt....
Fortunately.

I dont know if this still works as i havent tried it since i used my old 75mhz pentium but you can give it a shot.

Goto the dos command line and go into the directory you want to delete (you might not even be able to do that...not too sure) the only way i know how to do it is to delete each file one by one.

anyway once your in the folder find the file you want to delete and type in "attrib filename.exp -r" that should remove the access requirements for the file. my guess is if you do that to every file in the directory you should br able to delete them.

sorry if that doesnt work...again i havent used that sinve dos 6.2 was released lol.

Perhaps you could take ownership and then be able to delete the folder(s).

Well, there is no password-so he just uses it. I tried multiple times to format, the HD, finally it worked. Now the HD is clean. I know he is an expert in C++. Not sure what he did to make the pc so. Thanks for the help
