Icons wont delete off of Desktop!

I downloaded a program and Im trying to delete the icons off the desktop right? well it gives me this messge when I try..

"Error Deleting File Or Foulder

Cannot Delete FIle: Cannot Read from Source File or Disk "

Its a small problemb ut its annoying me... how do I get these icons off? I already tried the wizard that removes unused icons.. but no luck with that... thanks

btw Im using Windows XP

Perhaps the process is still running? Spybot Search and Destroy might do the trick for you.

Just a thought - are you sure its a shortcut icon and not a program that's currently running? Whatr are the security settings on that icon?

You could also try the Desktop Cleanup Wizard

Start>Control Panel and double-click the Display icon.

Click on the Desktop tab and hit the Customize Desktop button

Under Desktop Cleanup, click on Clean Desktop now.

The Desktop Cleanup Wizard pops up. It'll display a list of desktop icons you haven't used in awhile. Follow the instructions to delete the any icons.
